RODS AND REELS {Spin or Comparable Bait Casting Outfit}

Walleye, Bass, and Lake Trout Fishing:
5 ½ -6 1/2' rods, light to medium action.
6 - 8 lb. Test line with 125 - 200 yards capacity.

Pike and Musky Fishing:
6 - 7' rods, medium - heavy action.
12 - 30 lb. test line with 125 - 200 yards capacity.
(For serious Musky fishing, a heavier action rod and 25 - 40 lb. test line.)

Fly Fishing for Bass:
8 - 9' rods, medium action with 7 - 8 weight line.
For larger species a heavier action rod with 8 - 9 weight line.

FISHING LURES

Walleye Fishing:
1/4 - 3/8 oz. Lead head jigs, plain or colored.
Tubes and grub tails 3-5" in various colors.
Shad Raps, SR8-SR9 sizes, all colors.
Lil' Joe Spinners, #2-1/0 size hook with gold, silver or fluorescent colored blades with sinkers. (Spring fishing.)

Bass Fishing:
1/16-1/4 oz. Lead head jigs, plain or colored.
3-5" Tubes and Kalin grub tails. (Natural or Neutral colors work best.)
4-6" Jerk Shads or Flukes with a 3-5/0 worm hook. (Smelt, shad or perch colors.)
Rebel Crawfish, shallow and deep runners.
Husky Jerks, 3 1/8- 4 3/4" in blue/chrome, black/chrome, clown and firetiger.
Mepps spinners, #3 and #4, squirrel tails and plain, gold and silver blades.

Top water fishing:
Tiny and Baby Torpedoes. (All colors.)
Skitter Pops, Pop-Rs, and Zara Spooks in frog and shad colors work best.

Fly Fishing for Bass and Pike
Popping bugs and hair bugs sizes 2- 4. Best colors are chartreuse, yellow, red/white, frog or black.
Dahlberg Divers, Wooly Bugs, Matuka Sculpins, and Crayfish imitations in sizes 2- 4. Best colors are brown, black, olive, or natural colors.
Large streamers in white/red, black, chartreuse, or yellow will all work for Pike.

Pike Fishing:
Rat-L Traps, 1/2 oz. in blue/chrome, black/chrome, chartreuse or shad.
Husky Jerks, 4 ¾"- 5 ½" in same colors as listed above for bass.
Mepps Spinners, #4- 5 with silver, gold, or flourescent orange spinners with either black, brown, or yellow bucktail.
Five of Diamonds in 3 - 5".
Spinnerbaits in assorted sizes and colors.
Also various musky lures will work as well.

Musky Fishing:
Mepps Musky Killer, Boo Tails and many of the other inline spinners all work well in the different color combinations available.
Black, yellow, white or chartreuse are used on a regular basis.
Suicks, Crane Baits, Grandmas, Super Shads, Depth Raiders all work well from mid-summer thru fall.
Jack Pots, Mudpuppys, Ciscoe Toppers, and Top Raiders all produce throughout summer.

Lake Trout Fishing:
3/8 - 1/2 oz. lead head jigs of various colors rigged with white or similar smelt colored tubes in the 3 ½ - 5" lengths. Also a #1 or #2 barrel swivel is needed.

Walleye Fishing
1/8 - 1/4 oz. lead head jigs -colors (plain, pink, chartreuse) - quantity 50
3" power grubs- colors (white, chartreuse) - quantity 25

Northern Pike Fishing
Spinner baits - colors (white, chartreuse)
¾ oz. five of diamonds spoons
¾ oz. daredevil spoons
2-3 deep trolling baits (dive 15-20 ft.) example: shad raps, wally divers, silver redeye spoons, countdown baits
5-6" gaylen twister tails (white)
buzz baits - top water
zara spooks - top water

Trout Fishing
3/8 oz lead head jigs- colors (pink and white)
1 oz. white hair jigs
3" salty tube baits- (white)
Also a #1 or #2 barrel swivel is needed

Fly Fishing For Pike
White streamers - 3-4"
Pikey Bombers
Yellow/Red streamers - 3-4"
